Roy’s Hill takes its name from a local geographical feature situated within the famous Gimblett Gravels wine growing area. JEFF CLARKE, Group Winemaker: Jeff Clarke was appointed as the Group Winemaker for the Benton Wine Group in 2017. He began his winemaking career in Australia, working as a head winemaker with Pernod Ricard for 17 years, more recently Ara, and has made a considerable contribution to the New Zealand wine industry. PAUL SMITH, Head Winemaker: Paul first realised his passion for wine while working in a boutique bottle store in his home town of Te Puke. Paul's first vintage was with Pask in 2004, from there he went on to travel and experience vintages in various wine regions such as, the Hunter Valley, Yarra Valley & Burgundy. Returning to Hawkes Bay with his young family in 2010 to take up a leadership role with Pask Winery.
