TASTING NOTE:
When tasting / sampling wines from South America, and in this case Mendoza, Argentina, you get excited about the impending wine by simply looking at the intense and vibrant deep colour that mesmerizes you as soon as you pour the wine into a glass.
The Chakana Estate Selection is the best expression the winery offers from each vintage. It is a blend crafted with the selection of the best vines and fruit of the year that result in a different wine with strong personality.
Chakana's Estate Selection was skillfully made from carefully hand-harvested grapes. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot, handpicked grapes sourced from 35 year old vines grown in Mendoza Argentina. After 12 days fermentation and going through malolactic, 100% of the wine had 15 months in new French oak barrels to add depth and character, then a minimum of 6 months development in the bottle before labeling.
Deep red with violet hints fill the glass. The nose reveals dark fruits and exotic spices with tobacco and hints of mocha chocolate. The palate is perfectly balanced and harmonious, with persistent rich berries and chocolate flavours fill your mouth, elegant and integrated fruit, oak and silky tannins round out a long finish. A real treat for all the senses.
CELLARING POTENTIAL:
Drinking well now; and will mature gracefully over the next 5+ years.
