Wine of the Week
Jules Taylor Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2008
18 November 2008

Grape Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc

Growing Region: Marlborough, New Zealand

Winemaker: Jules Taylor

TASTING NOTE:
Jules Taylor has a zest for life and this comes through in all of her wines and no more so than in this fresh and lively 2008 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

This wine has a delightful light lime colour that shines in the glass. Aromas of black currant and citrus-grapefruit, spill out like fresh cut bouquet of flowers. On its wonderfully rich palate grapefruit flavours again come to the fore. It has a lingering intensity that is very mouth filling, showing perfect balance of fruit and natural acidity, rolling out to a dry finish - a distinct example of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

The previous vintage was one of the most sort-after Sauvignon Blanc's in New Zealand - and this next installment is existing palates even before the summer weather has even arrived. This is purely and simply a great expression of one of New Zealand most favourite grapes and will match so many typical favourite Kiwi dishes over the coming summer months. Summer in a glass. Don't miss out.

CELLARING POTENTIAL:
Drinking perfectly well this coming summer; and well into 2009.

SUGGESTED FOOD MATCHES:
Perfect wine match with shellfish, any firm white fish and with a goat cheese salad, enjoy.
