A Milestone in New Zealand Winemaking

Brookfields 70th Anniversary - 'no' - it's not a typo, on the 9th of February of this year Brookfields celebrated 70 years of being a vineyard/ winery. Admittedly in the early years the style and quality of alcoholic beverages (i.e. port, sherry and a little wine) being produced were not to the same standard and award winner quality that we can all enjoy today, from Peter Robertson owner/ winemaker of Brookfields since 1977.

The evening was a who's - who of friends, family and winemakers from today and yester year from the Hawkes Bay and around New Zealand, even the 3 'Brothers' from the Mission in Napier whom were Peter's first customers in 1977 and who gave him plenty of good advice in the early days were there.

Today Peter & Brookfields produce some of Hawkes Bay's and New Zealand finest range of wines from Pinot Gris, oak aged Chardonnay, benchmark Bordeaux blends and the outstanding ?Hillside' Syrah. A great evening, and I'm sure many more great memories and wines to be enjoyed and shared over the coming years.
