The Mint Julep has been the traditional beverage for the Kentucky Derby for nearly a century, with Early Times holding a privileged and honoured part of that tradition.
Ingredients:
2 Cups Fine White Sugar
2 Cups Water
Fresh Mint
Crushed Ice
Early Times Kentucky Bourbon
Silver Julep Cups
This recipe allows for fast and easy service of Mint Juleps by pre-batching the Mint Syrup. Boil the sugar and water until fully dissolved. Cool and place in a covered container with six or eight sprigs of fresh Mint and refrigerate overnight.
To make one Julep, fill a Silver Julep Cup with crushed ice, adding 15ml Mint Syrup and 60ml Early Times. Stir rapidly until the outside of the cup has frosted over. Top up crushed ice and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a small straw.
