During the 17th century, ginger beer was a typical drink of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, making it a popular choice of beverage all over the British Empire.

Greece, the Caribbean islands, Africa and Jamaica are amongst the many countries where Ginger Beer has grown in popularity. Today, Jamaica is an industry leader in the production of Ginger Beer, attributed mainly from the variety of drink combinations coming from the Caribbean tradition to mix ginger with black, coffee-flavoured rums. Combined with its exotic and intriguing ginger-spiced mix, Tia Maria adds a special touch to this simple yet refreshing cocktail.

Ingredients:
45ml Tia Maria

15ml Fresh lime juice

Stoke Ginger Beer

Method:
Pour Tia Maria and the fresh lime juice into a tall glass filled with ice. Top with Stoke Ginger Beer and stir gently.

Garnish:
Garnish with a slice of orange and lime, or a sprig of fresh mint leaves.
