03 December 2012

Grape Variety: 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay

Growing Region: Reims, France

Chief Winemaker: Regis Camus

TASTING NOTE:
Piper-Heidsieck has a distinct personality carefully orchestrated by Regis Camus, Piper Heidsieck's chef de cave. Regis has raised the wines of Piper-Heidsieck to a new level of excellence, led by a strong belief in the necessity to ensure consistency of quality. Regis has chosen to use a majority of carefully selected Pinot Noir, to bring freshness and radiance to the range of award winning wines.

Regis declares a vintage only in exceptional years, as very element must correspond to his clear and focused image of the Piper Heidsieck house style. The wines are individually had picked from a selection of Crus to ensure they are representative of the year's personality and of course, their ability to mature for a minimum of 5 years on the lees.

As you pour the fine persistent bubbles into your flute - a summer glow, as luminous and sparkling as a sunrise fills the glass. The refined bubbles help to reinforce the sparkle in every sip.

On the nose a soft first impression of fresh almonds and hazelnuts, that leads on to more tropical notes and hints of apricots and ripe citrus fruits. The palate has a dynamic character, a sign of longevity, expresses itself fully across your palate. The firm and subtle texture showcases dried exotic fruits, with hints of coconut enhanced by a touch of cedar wood. A substantial wine, balanced, lively packed with an eternal youthful personality, giving a persistent length to the finish. Chill and serve at 8-10C.
