Hot Buttered Rum
06 September 2011

Hot buttered rum is a mixed drink containing rum, butter, hot water or cider, a sweetener, and various spices (usually cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves). It is especially popular in autumn and winter and is traditionally associated with the northern hemispheres holiday season. In the United States, the drink has a venerable history which dates back to colonial days.

This is a delicious version made with the world's oldest rum brand Mount Gay and the most awarded rum in the world Mount Gay Extra Old. This drink is so easy to make and hard to mess up - perfect for a long winters night or after a long day on the mountain.

1 tsp soft brown sugar

1 slither of fresh vanilla pod

Small pinch of dried chilli

1 pod of Star anise

10 cm x 1 cm of Lemon peel

Juice of half a Lemon

1 tsp Butter
