Cocktail of the Week
Cointreau Caipirinha
21 June 2011

Cointreau is the original orange liqueur, a 150 year success story and the most copied and counterfeited liqueur brand worldwide. Cointreau is the perfect marriage of sweet and bitter orange peels macerated and distilled in fine French spirit and then blended with sugar, resulting in a perfectly natural, clear rich liqueur.

It will turn cloudy with water - demonstrating the high oil (flavour) content. It is also the original ingredient in many of the world's classic cocktails including the Margarita, the Sidecar and the White Lady to name but a few. This week's cocktail is simple and quick to make but delicious and easy to drink. Enjoy one soon!

Ingredients:

60ml Cointreau

1 lime (cut into chunks)

Crushed ice

Method:
In the base of a tumbler crush lime to extract juice and oil from the skin. Pack glass with crushed ice and slowly pour Cointreau. Finish with more loosely crushed iced and serve with a straw.

Garnish:
No garnish required.
