Cocktail of the Week
The Red Blinker Cocktail
19 January 2010

The Blinker cocktail is a delightful flavour discovery that first appeared in Patrick Gavin Duffy's 'The Official Mixers Manual' circa 1934. The original is a delicious blend of Bourbon, Chambord and fresh squeezed grapefruit. My slight variation incorporates fresh ruby red grapefruit and a touch of egg white for texture.

INGREDIENTS:
45ml Woodford Reserve Bourbon

15ml Chambord Liqueur

30ml Fresh squeezed Ruby Grapefruit juice

15ml Egg White

METHOD:
Shake all ingredients well with ice in a Boston shaker. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

GARNISH:
Garnish with a grapefruit peel twist and 2 raspberries.
