Grape Varieties: 100% Pinot Noir
Growing Region: Marlborough, New Zealand
Owner / Winemaker: Matt Patterson-Green
TASTING NOTE:
Concentrated aromas of red and black forest fruits dominate combined with dried herbs and spicy cedar notes. To taste, the flavour profile is savoury and spice, rich and ripe without losing precise Pinot Noir detail. Tannins are moderate but integrated, leaving a lasting impression of texture (density), harmony and not least; definitive vineyard and southern Marlborough clays character.
The acclaim that this Pinot Noir generates is based entirely on the merit of its pristine, cool climate vineyards and the clay bound soils. The 'Vintage Widow' is named as such in recognition of the partners and families of those who are overlooked during vintage.
