TASTING NOTE:
The Coopers Creek 'Select Vineyards' series; are a site expressive range of varietal wines. As with all of the wines in the S.V. range this Marsanne is a small batch wine, carefully crafted from a completely new and vibrant grape varietal to this country. Simon and his team are producing a benchmark expression of this varietal and true to its origins. This wine can be described as an exotic aromatic which is extremely food-friendly and ready to be enjoyed this coming summer season with fresh, light cuisine.

Each S.V. wine has a nickname, a light-hearted reference to its origin, its style or simply a slice of its history. The grapes for this wine were grown in Gisborne by Doug & Delwyn Bell. This wines names relates to Doug's pride in his newly restored 'Allison' supercharged V12 engine from a Curtis Kittyhawk aircraft. The fruit was harvested in ideal conditions on the 21st of March with fermentation starting in stainless steel tank. The juice was then transferred to 5 year old oak barrels to finish fermentation and rest on its own lees for a brief time until the end of May, with the wine being bottled in June 2013.

In the glass this wine was a light green, lemon colour and a bright hue. On the nose, the wine is pure and fresh, with lifted honeysuckle and rock melon notes. The palate of the wine is up front and surprisingly full bodied, well balanced with great length and a lively and refreshing presence on the off-dry finish. Chill and serve at 8-10C.
