The concept behind the American Beauty is to create a cocktail as pleasant to look at as to sip. Whereas some cocktail names are straightforward descriptions of their contents, others are poetic creations. Inspired by the American Beauty rose - this richly flavoured cocktail is a shimmering example of a perfectly named drink.
American Beauty roses were the best-selling roses from 1888 to 1920. The creator of this drink is unknown. Supposedly this cocktail was first mentioned in first edition of 'The Savoy Cocktail Book' by Harry Craddock.
