ALLAN SCOTT – A NAME SYNONYMOUS WITH WINE
Family roots run deep; nobody has more experience growing grapes in Marlborough than the Allan Scott family. Allan himself planted some of the regions most famous vineyards, including the very first, and has worked every vintage since.
In 1990, Allan Scott Family Winemakers was born & it was a family affair in the truest and most endearing sense of the word, with multi-generations of the Scott family working together to produce the much-loved brands we know today.
In 2021, Allan’s children, Josh Scott & Sara Stocker assumed control of the company and now head up production, management, and development for the future.
Josh Scott has been around the wine business all his life, having grown up with vineyards just across the road from the family winery.
Josh has a Diploma in Viticulture and Wine Production, and he has also worked in France and California’s Napa Valley. While working the grape harvest in Napa, Josh discovered the little-known fact that good wine is made with good beer.
On his return to NZ Josh started experimenting with making beer using some of his winemaking techniques. Moa Beer was born and headed by Josh, but he could not leave the wine industry behind.
Today, he manages and co-owns Allan Scott Family Winemakers with his younger sister Sara. Outside of work Josh is an extremely competitive sportsman and is a committed multisport event racer. Josh is Dad to George, Gus, and Mila.
